Dr. Rick V Birdsong

Dr. Rick V Birdsong, a native of Coffeyville, Kansas, attended Kansas State University and graduated with a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 1989. He and his wife Cindy, moved to Springfield, CO in June of 1989 to work for Robins Vet Clinic. He and Cindy bought the clinic in 1991 and are still operating it today. Cindy retired from being an elementary teacher at Springfield school district in 2020 after 25 years of teaching.

Rick and Cindy have 3 children and 5 grandchildren (3 boys and 2 girls).

They enjoy spending time with their family, hunting arrowheads, fishing, hunting, camping, horseback riding and playing on their church’s worship team as a family.


Lanell Huffman

Lanell Huffman is our Receptionist/Assistant. She recently was granted her Vet Tech licenses in January of 2024!

She is a native of Miami, Ok but grew up in Baca County since she was 4. Lanell graduated from Campo High School in 1994. She attended Lamar Community College and graduated with her Nursing degree in 2000. Lanell began working for SECVC in September of 2005.

Her passion in life is to better the lives of animals in need and make the owners feel as comfortable as possible and make sure their needs are met as well.

Lanell and her husband Howdy live on and operate their own cattle ranch. They have 3 children, 2 grandsons and 5 granddaughters! She enjoys working the family ranch, spending time with the grandbabies and traveling.

Lanell also owns/operates her own Cheer Company along with her daughter, as well as a Rustic Rose Flower Shop here in Springfield.
